Welcome to Analytical Biochemistry, Meiji Pharmaceutical University!
In various diseases, early detection of the disease allows for early therapeutic intervention and brings tremendous benefits to the patient. We use biochemical and analytical chemistry methods to search for diagnostic markers for early detection of diseases. Furthermore, we aim to elucidate the pathogenesis of diseases in which oxidative stress is involved in their pathogenesis.

Research
Our research focuses on oxidative and carbonyl stress in neurodegenerative and psychiatric diseases.
Research on oxidative stress-related diseases and redox regulation
We aim to elucidate the pathogenesis of diseases by analyzing biological components with altered profiles in response to oxidative stress.
Finding diagnostic markers for central nervous system diseases and investigating the mechanisms of pathogenesis
We focus on carbonyl stress and aim to discover diagnostic markers for diseases involving such stress.
Studies on Physiological Functions of Bound Sulfur, a Metabolite of Cysteine
We aim to elucidate the physiological role of “bound sulfur” and establish a measurement system for bound sulfur.
